Aztec Airways Eyes New Route To George Town, Exuma
Fort Lauderdale, FL – August 11, 2025 – Aztec Airways, the Fort Lauderdale based airline known for its stress-free, reliable travel to the Bahamian Out Islands, is excited to announce that George Town, Exuma will be joining its growing list of Bahamas Out-Island destinations starting November 2025.
This popular Out Island getaway has been on Aztec Airways’ radar for some time, and with demand rising among both passengers and island partners, the airline has officially begun planning service from its private terminal at Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) to Exuma International Airport (GGT).
“George Town and the Exumas offer some of the most stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters in the world,” said Rick Aranha, Director of Operations at Aztec Airways. “We’ve heard from travelers time and again that this destination is a must, and we’re proud to have the twin-engine aircraft, experienced crew, and dedicated support team to make it a reality,”
The airline welcomes input from travelers, island residents, and tourism partners as it develops the route schedule and amenities for the new service. Aztec Airways is currently considering twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays, however, the final schedule will be shaped by community input. The goal is to make George Town a permanent addition to Aztec Airways’ network, connecting more travelers to one of the Bahamas’ most spectacular island chains.
While this marks Aztec Airways’ first passenger route to the island, the airline has proudly served Exuma since 2010 through its weekly, reliable cargo flights in partnership with Reggie Express. The team is looking forward to adding passenger services and further strengthening connections for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
Just weeks ago, Aztec Airways expanded its network with daily flights to North Eleuthera, Governor’s Harbour, and Marsh Harbour, Abaco— all in response to passenger demand and strong support from Bahamian tourism partners. The addition of George Town reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to growing access to the Out Islands while maintaining the stress-free, reliable travel experience Aztec is known for.
