About Aztec Airways

Our Story

Founded in 2001 by pilot Stuart Hanley, Aztec Airways began with a single twin-engine Piper Aztec and a vision to make island travel more accessible and personal.

Today, Aztec Airways connects South Florida with the Bahamas Out Islands through scheduled flights, private charters, and cargo services. Operating from our private terminal at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), we offer a more convenient flying experience with no TSA lines, complimentary parking, and personalized service.

More than two decades later, our commitment to safety, reliability, and making every journey feel personal remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our Fleet

The Aztec Airways fleet of twin-engine Piper Chieftain aircraft is built for dependable, comfortable travel across the Bahamas. Each plane seats up to eight passengers and offers a smooth ride, flexible cabin configurations, and exceptional performance on shorter island runways.
